We decided to bite the bullet and canoe the Peace River last weekend. We have lived here for almost 7 years (gasp - 7 years?!) and we have not yet canoed down our river. Our good friend Lauren decided to call it the "Shaw Annual Regata" such a nautical name. It was darkly suggested that we call it the "blank family memorial" depending on who capsized, however, no tragedy befell us as we took 2 toddlers, 1 four year old, 10 adults, and one bizarre inflatable dingy like canoe (which filled with water as soon as it floated into the water and it was decided the drain valve was not closed....) down the Mighty Peace. Fun was had! We loved it. It was so beautiful as we floated. Now I will attempt to post the pics....Enjoy! Lauren and Janelle paddle in the yellow canoe, Lauren brought his Kelly Kettle and made us hot chocolate, and Ava fell asleep in the middle of the boat.
